UPDATE:  We further researched Pops background and spoke with a previous pet sitter.  We believe that Pops could live with other dogs as he has previously been exposed to other dogs.  It’s not that he doesn’t like other dogs; he does.  It’s that he bonds very intensely with his female caretakers and that sharing her attention can be a challenge that needs to be managed.  So it's not that Pops needs to be an only pet; Pops needs to go to a home with dog-savvy owners who understand what resource guarding people is and how to manage it.  While Pops still hasn’t been around small children, he could probably go to a home with teenagers, too.  His reviews from his pet sitter were that he was very affectionate.

Imagine being a young mixed-breed dog, saved by a kind-hearted woman, and enjoying a beautiful life together. As the years went by, it was just you and your mom, sharing love and laughter. But suddenly, tragedy struck—your mom suffered a stroke, and she will never be able to care for you again. Now, at 9 years old, you find yourself confined to a kennel in a boarding facility, and the change has been overwhelming. Meet Pops, a 65-pound mixed-breed dog with a captivating black and brown coat. Pops is searching for a forever home in an adults-only environment, and he needs your help. While he hasn’t had exposure to other pets or children, he is a gentle soul who just needs the right environment to thrive. The stress of his sudden change has taken a toll on him, and he is becoming increasingly unhappy in his kennel situation. Pops is housebroken, crate-trained, and walks well on a leash. He’s not just an outdoor enthusiast; he’s also an affectionate lap dog who craves human companionship. He responds wonderfully to love, and a few chewy toys or snacks will instantly win his heart. Now is the time for Pops to find someone who will help him enjoy the golden years he deserves. Don’t let time slip away—are you ready to open your heart and home to Pops? Together, you can create a bond filled with love and comfort. Apply today and give Pops the second chance he needs! https://www.hart2heartanimalrescue.com/forms/form?formid=6527
